Should use resistor to preload capacitors on multi ?

The sparks caused when bolting the cables, could they damage the inverter/batteries?

Should I use a large resistor to precharge the capacitors on the inverter or this is for big models?

If prior to connecting the batteries I switch for a couple of secs the AC-IN and turn off prior connecting the batteries, would this charge the caps?

I have a Multiplus 2000/24

Yes, it is beneficial to use a resistor. The surge of power to charge capacitors results in the spark you are seeing. I keep a couple of ceramic resistors around, just the 25w rectangular ones with a wire out each end, and they work fine. It slows the charge from that huge inrush and, in a couple of seconds, you’re set.
