I understand the difference in efficiency (voltage drop) between the FET and diode isolators. But is there any difference in robustness, or expected reliability between the two? Is one type less prone to failure than the other?

No real difference. The Argo FET is a slightly more complex unit in terms of component count, and the complexity of the device, so may be considered as having a shorter mean time to failure (MTBF), but I would not worry about that. Modern electronic devices are a lot more robust than they were 50 years ago: by those standards, a current processor chip would have an MTBF of about 5 minutes!.
