is the BMV 712 Smart Compatible with MPPT 150/35 controller?
Also interested also in knowing if the cables that are supplied with the 712 will connect to the controller.. Thanks in advance.

Whilst the cables will connect, the data output by the shunt has different headers to that of an MPPT. It would be unrealistic to assume the display would function correctly with the shunt. I've been looking into this, as I'm trying to write some code that will interface with both MPPT devices and a smart shunt, without the code knowing which port the device is connected to. This means looking into mainly the ASCII protocol, as well as the hex protocol for both devices. Documentation for the shunt is a bit below the standard of the documentation for the MPPT's.
Some of the asci headers are the same, but the register contents are different. Also the display may detect the PID is not from an MPPT and refuse to play.
