Buck Boost Battery temperature sensor

Als MH The Buck-Boost DC-DC Converter manual states that Battery Temperature monitoring is optional. Where is this is connected to the Converter? What is the part number for the Temperature probe part number? Can the temperature setting be programmed? Can the temperature probe be connected to the alternator to reduce of stop charging if the alternator is too hot?

This temperature sensor is connected using the CAN bus system, so a Can bus temperature sensor is required.

All the configuration setup is in the software, so download it and see if it can do what you are looking for.

The best thing to protect your alternator is a temperature sensor connected to your regulator Balmar make a good regulator for this and also have a suitable temp sender.

Or modify the field circuit in the alternator buy inserting a Thermal temp sensor inline (Series) with the main field control wire. thus if it heats up to much the field is opened and the Alternator stops charging . I would think a thermal cutoff that's in a kettle would work fine. but no higher than say 180/200 deg C or the melting point of solder. (depending on the solder type used in the alternator)
